Ingredients In Grilled Steak Salad

Let’s dive into the ingredients breakdown that will make this dish a perfection.

Flank Steak Cut

As it’s a salad and meant to be healthy with fewer calories, targeting this lean cut seems to be the best idea so far.

Tomatoes

I’ll be using cheery tomatoes that give a nice burst of sweetness accompanied by tanginess that gives the grilled steak salad a refreshing yet delicious touch.

Olive Oil

Grilling the steak with olive oil is hands down one of the healthiest approaches. It controls the calorie intake as well by giving you healthy nutrients. It’s perfect for salad dressing as well.

Garlic

Garlic imparts a rich flavor to the salad, freshly minced garlic is fine but you can go for garlic powder as well.

Green Veggies

A salad is nothing without its veggies undoubtedly so cilantro along with spring onions gives a nice and fresh touch.

Jalapenos taste delicious but I’ll recommend you to use fresh jalapeños instead of canned ones.

Salt & Pepper

Both act as great seasoning along with olive oil to tenderize the meat and give a nice flavor.

  • Generously season your steaks as they turn out to be crispy and delicious when grilled.
  • Grill your steak to medium rare which will make your salad chewy. But if you don’t want chewiness, grill your steak to medium as salads demand more cooking.
  • Don’t consume it immediately, give it some rest as all the juice will seep out and the taste will be ravishing.
  • Cut against the grain as it will let you chew it easily without any effort.

  • You can go for lean steak cuts including breast cut, sirloin steak, and others available to you.
  • Although we are adding cherry tomatoes here you can use other produce as well. As it’s spring, you can get fresh veggies, and believe me Roasted sweet potatoes, and Brussels sprouts will go perfectly well as salad.
