Ingredients Used In Apple Flapjacks
Let me give you an ingredients breakdown that will make these gooey, sweet perfect apple flapjacks that will make your day!
Butter
I’ll suggest you use unsalted butter but if you want to make these flapjacks vegan use a plant-based oil, like you can go for coconut or sesame oil.
Apples
The star ingredient of our sweet apple flapjacks, however, you can use fresh apple pieces. But I’ll recommend you use either apple sauce or apple filling. Apple filling will have some apple chunks while apple sauce will give a saucy texture.
Rolled Oats
Well, this is what makes the apple flapjacks extra nutritious. However, I’ll suggest you use finer smaller Oats as they won’t make your flapjacks sticky in fact make them sturdier.
Sugar
I’ll be using a combination of demerara and soft brown sugar as they impart a slightly sweet taste while keeping a low sugar profile and are nutritionally healthier options than table sugar.
Cinnamon
My baked items are never wholesome without cinnamon as it gives a spicy yet delicious taste to the apple flapjacks. However, if you don’t have that you can use nutmeg as it gives such a nice, cosy flavor.
